Stanley S. Groves

Stanley Smith Groves (95) of Kingsville, MD, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. He is the husband of Lucille Groves (nee Sines) the youngest son of the late Delph and Mamie Groves. Stanley was born on July 30, 1928 and grew up on the family farm in Terra Alta, WV. He served two years in the Army, after high school. He went to the University of Baltimore and received a degree in accounting. He worked for Federal Service at Edgewood and Alexandria, VA. He served on the church board of Long Green Church of the Brethren and was treasurer for several years. He has two sons, Roger of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Philip of Kingsville, MD, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, camping and gardening.

A graveside service will be held at Taylor Sines Cemetery (Oakland, MD) on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory, can be made to Long Green, Church of the Brethren, 4800 Long Green Road, Glen Arm, MD 21057.
