Susan Rye (Wood)

Susan Rye, born Susan Wood, peacefully passed at Stella Maris Hospice on Sunday, July 16, 2023. A beloved wife to Robert L. Rye and a dedicated mother to Michael D. Rye and his wife Stefanie, she filled the role of a loving grandmother to Natalie and Logan Rye. John Wood, her brother residing in Florida, remembers her fondly, as do her nieces, Kimberly, Jennifer, and Jessica, along with their families. Susan's legacy also extends to her numerous cousins in the United States, Scotland, and Australia and the close friendships she cultivated over the years. She led a fulfilling career as an elementary grade Teacher from 1959 until 1996, spreading her knowledge and love for education across Florida, Morocco, Germany, and Baltimore County, Maryland.

Her family will be receiving visitors at the E. F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., located at 11750 Belair Road in Kingsville, on Friday, July 21, 2023, between the hours of 1:00 pm-3:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

More visiting hours will be available at St. John’s Lutheran Church at 13300 Manor Road, Glen Arm, Maryland 21057 on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Her burial will be a private ceremony.
