On May 29, 2026, Tyrone Damon Schwenk passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. A man of remarkable intellect, unwavering dedication, and boundless kindness, Tyrone lived a life rich in accomplishments, service, and devotion to those he loved.

Tyrone was the beloved husband of 56 years to his cherished wife, Camilla “Camy” Sue (née Viste) Schwenk. He was a devoted and loving father to Regina Schwenk and Christopher Schwenk. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Marta Wall and her husband Dennis, his nephew Nathan Wall, and his niece Megan Brogger. He will be lovingly remembered by his faithful feline companion, Miss Mustache, who brought him great comfort and companionship. Tyrone was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jack Burton Schwenk and Jesse Kathleen (née Stockwell) Schwenk.

A proud United States Army Veteran, Tyrone honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. Throughout his life, he pursued knowledge with extraordinary passion and determination, earning a Doctorate Degree, two Master's Degrees, and two Bachelor's Degrees. His distinguished career as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer reflected both his brilliant mind and his relentless curiosity. A gifted innovator, Tyrone held a patent for one of his engineering creations, an achievement that brought him great pride when it was later adopted and utilized by the United States Navy. His remarkable intellect, creativity, and dedication to advancing technology left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him and on the fields to which he devoted his talents.

Tyrone's talents and interests extended far beyond his professional accomplishments. A gifted musician, he was a dedicated member of the Baltimore City Pipe Band and the Harford Highlanders Band, where he excelled as a bass drum player and proudly captured numerous honors, including three championship victories in competition. His competitive spirit and innovative thinking also led him to success as a mentor of the Absolute Zero Robotics Club in Aberdeen, where he participated in world competitions and achieved several award-winning accomplishments.

A lifelong student of history, Tyrone was an active member of an archaeological club and had a deep appreciation for historical homes and land preservation. Through countless hours of labor and craftsmanship, he personally restored and renovated his beloved Victorian home and barn, creating a lasting testament to his skill, patience, and dedication.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Tyrone embraced a healthy and active lifestyle. An accomplished 5K runner, he continued competing well into his seventies, frequently placing among the winners of his races. His adventurous spirit also led him to raft down the Colorado River alongside his dear friends, Retired Colonel Bryan Stewart and his wife, Michelle, creating memories and experiences that he cherished for years to come. His love of learning and experimentation even extended to the kitchen, where his creativity earned him first place in the Johns Hopkins Keto Food Challenge for two consecutive years.

Faith was an important cornerstone of Tyrone's life. He faithfully served as Senior Warden of St. John's Episcopal Church in Kingsville, where he generously gave of his time, talents, and leadership. Whether through his church, his community, or his friendships, Tyrone was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was deeply respected by all who knew him for his kindness, friendliness, wisdom, and willingness to serve others.

Those who loved Tyrone will remember his wonderful sense of humor, his love of storytelling, and his ability to bring smiles and laughter wherever he went. He enjoyed comedy, westerns, science fiction, and quiet moments relaxing at home with Miss Mustache. His warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit touched countless lives and created memories that will be treasured forever.
