Vernon Edward Pipino, 90, died on September 18, 2013 in Baltimore, MD. He was born in Baltimore on February 3, 1923 to the late Harry F. and Katherine (Rammes) Pipino. Vern graduated from Kenwood HS in 1941. He worked at the Crown Cork & Seal Co. and then proudly served in the US Army during WWII. In 1944 he was wounded in battle in Cassino, Italy, spending the remaining service time in the military hospital. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier until his retirement in 1983. Vernon was an empathetic, compassionate and humorous man and he made an impact on all those with whom he came in contact. He will be dearly missed by all. Vernon is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rose A. Michelman; a son Barry L. Pipino (Sara) and two wonderful granddaughters Jennifer Pipino and Dr. Jacqueline Salas (Alan). Vernon was a member of the American Legion, the Purple Heart Society and the Mt. Nebo Masonic Lodge.
Visiting at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road (Overlea) on Friday, September 20, 2013, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 10:00 am. Entombment Parkwood Cemetery.
