William Wray Skinner

On March 24, 2021 William Wray Skinner passed away peacefully of complications from a stroke. He was father to Margaret E. (Beth) Lavery (Tim) and Genevieve Adell (Richie) from his first marriage and grandfather to Harrison Lavery and Gannon Ring. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Ann (nee Martin) Skinner and step-father to Kim Maher (Joe), grandfather to Kevin Roloson and Trever Roloson and great grandfather to Hunter Roloson and Elleanna Newcomer.

Bill was a graduate of Kenwood High and subsequently served in the Army before a long career with Verizon (C&P Telephone). He also worked for many years for Martin’s Caterers.

Bill was in DeMolay before becoming an active member for 60 years in the Masonic Lodge (Liberty Pickering 219). Bill was also a member of the Scottish Rite and an active member of the Boumi Shrine. Over the years he served Boumi in a variety of roles, including Ambassador of Boumi Temple, Boumi Shepherds, Boumi Stewards, Past Captain and member of the Motor Corps, Mounted Patrol, Model Railroad Club, Clown Unit, Ocean City Shrine Club and Hillbilly Clan. He was also Past Captain and Member of the Mid- Atlantic Association Shrine Motor Corps (M.A.A.S.M.C). In addition to his many Shrine activities, Bill enjoyed cars, motorcycles, model trains and cooking.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Shriners Hospitals for Children www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org
