On August 31, 2026, William Beatty “Bill” Troy passed away, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who loved him dearly.

Bill was the beloved husband of Claudia (nee Schemm) Troy, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered upon love, family, and devotion to one another.

He was a devoted and loving father of William Alexander Troy and his wife Kandi, David Brooke Troy and his wife Leigh, John Bradley Troy and his wife Kimberly, and Julie Troy Gray. One of Bill’s greatest joys was being a grandfather. He deeply adored his grandchildren, Isabella Brooke Troy, Talbot James Troy, Charlotte Lucy Troy, Duncan Lucas Troy, Dean Beatty Troy, Lillian Grace Gray, and Josephine Harrah Gray, and treasured the time and memories they shared together.

Bill was the dear brother of Susan Alderman and her husband Howard and Anne Crist. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Terry Troy; his brother-in-law, John “Jack” Melvin Schemm, Jr. and his wife Gale; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents, William Alexander Troy and Blanche (nee Muller) Troy, and his brother, Stephen Alexander Troy.

Throughout his life, Bill’s greatest devotion was always to his family. He was a loving husband, a proud father, and an adoring grandfather who cherished the simple moments spent together and the memories created over the years. His love for his family was steadfast, and the life he and Claudia shared throughout their 61 years of marriage was one filled with enduring love and companionship.

Professionally, Bill enjoyed an accomplished 30-year career as a Systems Analyst with the Social Security Administration.

Away from his career, Bill found great pleasure in working with his hands and being outdoors. A talented woodworker, he enjoyed the creativity, craftsmanship, and satisfaction of transforming wood into something meaningful and lasting. He also had a deep appreciation for horticulture and loved working with the soil, gardening, and cultivating holly trees. Bill especially enjoyed boating and being on the water. After a day of work, time spent boating with Claudia offered them a peaceful place to relax, unwind, and simply enjoy being together.

Bill will be remembered for his devotion to those he loved, his many talents and interests, the beautiful life he built with Claudia, and the countless memories he leaves with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

The family will receive friends at the Oak Crest Chapel on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at which time a memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
