The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Florence Crane can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Shopping & Christmas

Oh did this woman love to shop. Mention Ollies and she was ready and had her walking shoes on. Christmas was always special. I remember after Thanksgiving she would start washing down the walls to make them smell fresh with lye soap. Coming home from school it was the best smell clean. Then Sue and My dad would go into the woods and hunt for the Christmas Tree and always came back with a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. Of course by the time Mom got through with it, it was the most beautiful tree in the whole world. Then the gifts would be wrapped in newspaper since wrapping paper was so expensive. But who cared it came from Santa with love. We didn't care she always made it fun. She would hide our first gift and we would have to hunt for it before we could open the rest. Which made Christmas last longer. Then there was always the "special" gifts. One time she got us underwear with a little mink on it which was cute.
