I met Susan over 20 years ago when our daughters were in PK at Calvary Lutheran School. Our kids would visit each other and we would chat...over the years it was more about us visiting than the kids. I talked to Susan once about enrolling Sarah out at Redeemer because we had just placed Casey there....and laughed when I found out her sister, Carol...who was a teacher there... had been working on her too! IT WAS MEANT TO BE!! I WAS THE INSTIGATOR OVER THE YEARS....and Susan ALWAYS, ALWAYS...had my back!!! I always had some major project...Calvary-fundraisers, RCCS -golf tournaments and auctions, renaisance festivals, school dramas, and more that needed an army of volunteers. Susan always stepped in...and always presented with her expertise- whether her sewing skills, baking, craftiness, or handmade cards, always 100% and more. I would give her an idea and she would run with it...I never had to worry about her professionalism and dedication. Susan didn't like the spotlight much and that was what made it so easy to work with her...it was always about the kids and the school. Unfortunately when our girls went off to college we drifted apart - fewer calls, emails, and Christmas cards. But I am grateful that Susan was more than a friend, she was and will forever be my sister in Christ and I am eternally grateful for that bond. oxox
