Many years ago, when Jim, Pat, and I were young, we had a lot of fun teasing each other about everything. One time I happened to call Pat in the evening, and Jim answered the phone. When I asked for Pat, he kind of sang up the steps, "Patty." (He had a great voice.) Receiving no answer, he tried again, this time singing, "Oh Patty, Patty Plum." I asked what kind of name that was, and he said it was a little pet name he had for her. I knew immediately that he had given me a great gift. I used this name many many times over the years, often introducing her to others as Patty Plum. I've always been grateful for the gift but probably never told Jim so. Here goes, "Thanks Jim." I'll remember him always. All my sympathy and love go to Jen and Susan and all who loved him.
